Attorney Mike Donohue Participates in Philadelphia Bar Association Law Day

May 31, 2013

Smith Kane attorney Mike Donohue participated in the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Law Day held this spring at City Hall. Law Day provides an opportunity for grammar school children from various Philadelphia area schools to witness and participate in a mock trial held in an actual courtroom and before a sitting judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia.

Mike participated as defense counsel for Gold E. Locks who was being prosecuted by the District Attorney for entering into a home uninvited, eating another person’s food without permission, breaking another person’s chair, and messing up a made bed. The mock jury trial was held before the Honorable Marlene F. Lachman and presented to a jury of Gold E. Lock’s peers–some of the grammar school students that were in attendance. Following jury instructions and deliberations, Gold E. Locks was found guilty on all charges by the jury. Judge Lachman held a question and answer session for the students following the mock trial. An instructive and fun Law Day was had by all in attendance.
